We are a small group within our church family that seeks to love, nurture, and support each other during all stages of parenting. Whether you have children currently at home, are an empty nester, or are a grandparent you are welcome here, as together we dive into topics about faith and parenting as well as Bible studies.

Seekers

Each week, discussion focuses on a chapter of a group-selected, Christian-themed book.

Pastor's study & small groups

On Wednesday evenings, Rev. Brian Coats leads a book or Bible study from 5:30-6:30 pm. For 30 minutes he shares his thoughts, and then the group splits into breakout groups for the other 30 minutes. For more information, contact Rev. Coats.

On Sunday evenings, CCC children, youth and adults participate in intergenerational home-based small groups. These groups are centered around table fellowship, sharing highs and lows and considering precepts from God's Word. We provide sign-ups and "on ramps" for small groups about four times per year.

Other adult MINISTRIES

Women's Ministry

We currently have three Disciples Women groups at Central - "Timeless Treasures," "Eat, Pray, Love," and "Cal Gals." The focus of each of these groups is fellowship, service and fun. You are invited to get involved and share your faith journey with other women.

Weep Less Widows

This group is made up of ladies who like to eat out occasionally, attend movies and community events, but do not want to go alone. We gather on the first Sunday of the month, after church service, to have our noon meal together. We also share joys and concerns, and plan a calendar of events we might want to attend for that month.

Men's Ministry

The men of the church have a very active fellowship. They get together about once a month for special events or service projects. In 2022, they have met for dinner at a BBQ restaurant, gone to the shooting range together, hosted a chili cookoff and spent a day fishing. Already in 2023, the men hosted a Valentine brunch for the women of Central complete with breakfast and entertainment! For more information, contact Reggie Parmer.

Sports Ministry

We have an array of events, programs and activities built around the purpose of glorifying God through sports. For instance, once a year we host a "Youth Sports Sunday," which encourages young people, their families and teammates. We pray for all the families involved in athletics, and we show a highlight video.  Also, Rev. Brian Coats leads a PE class for Noah's Ark Preschool. Our newest program is "PIckleball and Prayer." Every other Sunday we set up an indoor pickleball court in our Teel Center, which is also a half-gym. We play open doubles, and conclude with a time of prayer. For more information about our sports ministry, contact Rev. Brian Coats.

Music Ministry

Our chancel choir assists in leading worship, and singing offertory anthems under the direction of Alissa Ruth Suver. Music selections range from classics to contemporary, usually accompanied on piano. The chancel choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and does warm-ups on Sunday mornings before worship.

There are also opportunities for special offertory music performed by guest instrumentalists, soloists, and small groups, as well as handbell/handchime ensembles. All are welcome – adults and youth. If you are interested, please contact Alissa Ruth Suver.

For more information about any of these groups, please contact the church office.
